Jesus explained one parable so people can understand the others

In Mark 4 some people asked Jesus about his parables, and his answer is a warning.

Mark 4 told a parable that tells us what kinds of people we can be.

In Mark 3 Jesus' family says and does some offensive things to him, but his response sets the record straight.

Jesus warned us of what happens when a person has two different allegiances.

Mark 3 explains what discipleship is for. It is for apostleship. It is for going out in the authority of Christ. Everyone has a choice to go out in courage and power, or hide and stay low. At the end of your life, will you wish you had been wimpier?

In Mark 3, Jesus selected his disciples out from a large crowd. How did he pick them, and why?
